TRAVELING OUTSIDE LOBITOS AGREEMENT

MUST BE SIGNED BY ALL IN-PERSON VOLUNTEER INTERNS

Regardless if you are planning or not to travel outside Lobitos during your placement

This document should be read and signed by all Volunteer Interns doing an in-person placement at EcoSwell in Lobitos.

All the Volunteer Interns should read and be aware of the EcoSwell Volunteer Intern Handbook and Rules, which have been made available to them. Signing this form acknowledges that you have read and understand these documents. All advice set out in the Volunteer Intern Handbook should be followed if you choose to travel outside of Lobitos sometime during your in-person placement.

General travel requirements:

  1. Advance notice: Notify your direct supervisor about travel plans, including dates and destinations. Your supervisor is the only one that can approve your travel plans. DO NOT BOOK YOUR TRAVEL BEFORE GETTING YOUR SUPERVISOR’S APPROVAL, EcoSwell is not responsible for you potentially losing any bookings made without prior approval.

  2. Compliance with local rules: Research and comply with all regulations and norms in effect in the areas to be visited.

  3. Responsible conduct: Maintain appropriate conduct that positively reflects EcoSwell's values.

  4. Communication: Maintain an active means of communication and respond to important messages from the organization during the trip. The EcoSwell Volunteer Programme Coordinator (VPC) will be your main point of contact always, be sure to have their number and keep constant communication and updates of your travel plans, destinations and arrangements.

  5. Safety: Take reasonable precautions to ensure personal safety and the safety of any organizational property, if applicable.

  6. Return report: Upon return, provide a brief verbal report on the trip to your VPC.

  7. Release of liability: In case of accidents or any incidents, loss of personal belongings during the trip, and any other sort of damages (personal or material), the traveler releases EcoSwell from any responsibility or liability. We don’t endorse any destinations, lodgings, restaurants, travel/tour operators, etc. outside of Lobitos. You understand that you travel outside Lobitos at your own risk and at your full responsibility and that you are well informed of the places you are going and of any risks involved. EcoSwell is not responsible for any of your personal travel arrangements and anything that may happen to you during that time. 

All Volunteer Interns who travel outside Lobitos will be asked to confirm upon their return that they have materially complied with all rules currently in place in the area of Peru they have visited and with the EcoSwell Code of Conduct and the Relevant Policies indicated in the handbook.

In the event that it is discovered that a person has not complied with the rules currently in place in Peru and with the EcoSwell Code of Conduct and the Relevant Policies indicated in the handbook, and has not admitted this to the staff on or prior to their return, disciplinary action may be taken by EcoSwell which may involve, among others, termination of their contract/volunteer internship placement without access to any refund.


I confirm that I have read and understood the EcoSwell Volunteer Intern Handbook and Rules, and that I will comply with the requirements for travel outside Lobitos set out in this document. I also acknowledge and agree that EcoSwell is not responsible for any accidents, damages or loss, personal or material, that may occur to me during my trip.
